You asked what Pioneer Day is, well, its just a cutsie name for a day like the pioneers would live. We don't use any electricity. So that means, no lights, microwave, TV, hairdryers, etc.. We do make an exception for the fridge. You can adjust the "rules" to fit your life. It is just a great way to live simple even just for a little while. I believe that it has given my kids the ability to appreciate what we have now and I hope they won't take it for granted. There is a WIKI on pioneer day if you want to read more on it.
