jgrove - got your message about our Smart Strip. It can be used in either configuration with either Computer or Entertainment Center. You choose a control device, typically the CPU or TV, and when you shut the power off to the control device it signals the strip to close power to other devices plugged into the controlled outlets. There are also a few always on outlets for devices that you want to leave on such as wifi router or cable box.

There isn't a 4 outlet unit, but the 7 outlet unit isn't too large and can accomodate expansion.

While there are other websites that provide the same concepts as The Staga Network, it was my goal to provide a better experience for the members.

The Staga Network is a community controlled and moderated system. We do not have, nor do we need, appointed moderators to control the flow of posts. The community's members can ban illegal posts. There have been many complaints of FreeCycle moderators picking and choosing which posts to allow through to the group.

We also support basic social networking features which allow you to create friends lists and follow certain people directly. If you know that a certain member always posts baby clothes, you can follow that person more closely. We also allow the posting of images of the things you are giving away.

Finally, the interface of the website has been refined quite a bit after several usability tests to ensure that it is easy enough for even the most novice of users.
