Because you only need half the amount of shells as soakers this is by far one of the more economical Organic options on the market. Here is a quick comparison:
1 GroBaby Live Diaper Kit - $375
24 Organic Bum Genius - $529.68.
24 Blueberry Minky Bamboo (w/organic cotton) - $791.28
24 Swaddlebees Organic Velor & 12 Blueberry One Size Coveralls - $874.44
The GB Live Diaper Kit includes EVERYTHING you need to cloth diaper 1 child at a time...
12-GroBaby Shells with Organic Cotton snap-in soaker pads and Organic Cotton boosters6-Organic Cotton Snap-In Soaker Pad 2pk2-Organic Cotton boosters 2pk(TOTAL: 12 Shells, 24 Snap in Soakers, 10 Boosters)
And since they are One Size they will grow with your baby, saving you even more money. The only con for me (and this is just personally for me) is that I assumed all of the inner components were Organic cotton but then the shell was causing a rash on my daughters skin. That's when I realized that the inner mesh was polyester. (My daughter has a contact dermatitis to polyester). So I am bummed I can't use the shell right now. I'm hoping the next baby won't have as many skin sensitivities. But, it's not a total loss since the soaker and booster are separate from the shell so, I can use the soaker as an overnight doubler in my Bum Genius Organic Diapers for ULTRA leak protection and the booster at nap time or long car rides for ultra trim absorbency. (Especially since it's summer and she is drinking much more fluids than usual).
If your looking to reduce wear and tear on your existing stash or if your just starting out w/ building a cloth diaper stash this system is a fantastic option to go with.
I have two children and used prefold with our first. When baby #2 came along, I wanted something easier to use. Gro Baby is perfect for us (we have two kids in diapers - one on the low rise and one fully extended). I would recommend this diaper to any one even considering diapers - STOP throwing your diapers away, seriously, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
Loads of laundry are tiny and I hear there is a new detergent coming from The Natural Baby Co.?
I am so glad I came across this diaper when researching cloth diapering options for my little one! I bought it and at first was sceptical of a one-size diaper but I can honestly say that I love it! It is so trim and yet absorbent. I can't wait for the new color Vanilla to come out! You can be sure I will be buying more.
Gro Baby is the product that finally convinced us to switch back to cloth diapers. We tried Bumgenius with baby number 1 and were horribly dissapointed and gave up. We're now on month 3 with our Gro Baby diapers and can't say enough great things. They fit well, take up no room in our diaper bag, and wash up so well. The shell outers wash/dry so quickly we've often just rinsed them out by hand and air dryed them. We love that they are organic cotton too. I think more people would cloth diaper if they knew about a product like this!!
