Didn't clean well
nitedreamer reviewed May 20, 2008 at 11:49 am

Maybe we didn't have the best dishwasher in our apartment, but unless I pre-rinsed my dishes, they didn't get completely cleaned using this product. This was especially the case with glasses that we drank chocolate soymilk in- there would still be soymilk reside in the bottom of the glass. One day if I had a new dishwasher, I would probably try it again. But with the machine we had, I had to switch to a chemical-based dishwasher soap. Their handwashing dish soap works great though!

Pros: Safe, good smell, works on dishes

Cons: Does not work well on silverware
Not as good as hoped

I had already tried and loved Seventh Generation's Free and Clear Dish Soap. It worked better than any other dish soap I've used, so I had high hopes for their Dishwasher Detergent.  Sadly, I am completely disappointed in Seventh Generation's Automatic Dishwasher Gel.  It does not seem to clean my silverware and it sometimes misses on my dishes as well, if some fails to rinse the dish extremely well before it goes into the dishwasher.  I now have to spend extra time, extra soap and extra water re-cleaning dishes and silverware.  And don't get me wrong, I'm very particular about loading the dishwasher; making sure spoons aren't "spooning" one another; seeing that dishes are well rinsed as well as glasses; and not over loading the dishwasher in general.  Though despite my best efforts I find that this product just doesn't work like I think it should and I will not be purchasing anymore of it.

Pros: Eco-friendly, can be found at regular stores (ie: Target), occasional coupons available.

Cons: Leaves film, doesn't clean heavily soiled pots...
Not too impressed...

I was happy to find this product in several local stores such as my Target and Fred Meyers.  It's price is middle of the road and I liked that the prodect was gel form.  Nevertheless, its cleaning power was rathere disappointing.  It never cleaned a "full" load of dishes very well, film was left on most everything, and food bits were commonly found on the dishes etc.  I have had much better luck with Ecover tablets and have hear that CitraSolve does a good job as well.

Did not get my dishes clean

Maybe be cause we have harder water here in the Midwest, but this product did not get my dishes clean in the dishwaser. I ended up pitching it.  Also, we used it in our brand new Bosh dishwasher so it was not the dishwasher.
