It works, but not ideal.

Got this from a friend who sold her home. Using this lawn mower is quite a workout and negates the gasoline smell. I like using it, but when you have tall grass (from heavy rain or being lazy), it's a chore to use. Also it's not ideal for large yards.

Technically not this brand...

Ok, so I have no idea what brand we have. We got it at Home Depot ages ago. But it's a reel mower just like in the photo here.

I love it... as long as you don't have a large yard, this is great. the only downfall is large sticks, pinecones or rocks, you have to stop and move them out of your way.

I like this mower, cuts well if you cut lawn regularly. Rough area difficult, though. I find it as easy to maneuver, as my 22'' power mower. Bought it used, too. Great to have if gasoline becomes a problem.

Pros: No messy storage of pertoleum products, free exercise, incentive for less near impervious grass and more time.

Cons: Push bar needs to be more rigid.
Purchase Price:$99.00
To like it, you'll need to see your yard with new "glasses".

Why pay someone to exercise on Saturday at the Y or a club? Are you tired of storing messy gasoline and oil in your home, much less sending money to the Middle East? Does all the "stuff" you buy in "yard consumerism" finally click as a huge waste of effort and money?

If you are willing to combine exercise within a weekly schedule and want freedom from yearly maintenance and trips to the mow shop, gas station and Walmart, then you'll love this product. The key is you need to reduce your grass surface area to 1/4 acre or less. Some of this can be done by adding native trees with understory, rain gardens, and native landscaping. With 1/4 acre or less you are looking at a hour long workout and a great looking yard with no messy pertoleum and "stuff" filling up your garage. You don't need a grass catcher. Its called natural fertilizer. I'll never become enslaved to big oil in my yard again.
