Pros: Organic, fair trade, lathers really well, rinses clean

Cons: Doesn't have the same tingle as the liquid Dr. B, smells kind of like dental floss

Peppermint

We love the liquid peppermint Dr. Bronners, so when I saw that there was a bar soap version, I threw it in the cart.  I expected to be in love- and although I was a little disappointed, it is still a solid soap option (too little sleep=bad puns!).

There are two major differences between the liquid and solid peppermint soap- the tingly feeling, and the smell.  The smell of the bar soap is much more muted, and reminds me of minty dental floss.  It's not exactly a bad smell, but it's not the lovely scent that I have come to know and love.  The tingly refreshing feeling is also gone, which probably means this is the more gentle soap.  With my winter old lady hands, it's hard for me to tell for sure, but this does seem like a very mild soap.

The pluses- this stuff lathers really well, and rinses clean.  I think it will work out to be the cheaper than the liquid soap, and is more environmentally friendly- the soap is less heavy (reduces the carbon footprint of shipping) and is wrapped in paper rather than packaged in a plastic bottle.

We just unwrapped the bar a couple of days ago, but have already bought a second bar- this one is lavender scented.  I'll let you know how the smell goes!

Smooth and Comfortable

I really enjoy this soap.  I have the Unscented Baby Mild and I think it has all the best qualities of a good soap.  It has a good lather, it rinses away well, and it doesn't have an overpowering perfume-like scent.  A lot of soaps these days are very extreme in that they either make your skin develop an odd waterproof coating that makes you feel sticky, or they overly moisturize and leave you all greased up. This one finds a successful middle ground in my opinion.

This is a great soap that I have been using for years. It lasts and lasts and when it gets too small to use in the shower, I put it in a soap dish for hand washing.
