I won a post on Climate Progress - what should I write about?

Climate Progress had a contest to predict the outcome of the 2008 election (senate, house, presidential popular vote margin, and electoral vote margin).  With Al Franken taking the final seat in the Senate, I won.   Yay for me!

So what I won is the option to write a post on Climate Progress.  Apparently it doesn't have to be about the election, either.  But I don't really know what to write about, so I'm looking for suggestions.

I figure it would be good if in the post I talk about Huddler and the climate change forum section.  Other than that, I don't know.  Thoughts?

Oh and by the way, Joseph Romm will also soon be doing an Ask an Industry Leader interview on Huddler.  So think of questions you'd like to ask him too.

i suppose, write about what is most important of all to you, and/or about what you are doing about it. or start from a news report that grabs you, delve in, add other related stuff. sorry, thats not much help, just how i chose my last two projects. its hard, too much choice!

Congrats. Just looking at what they have under the 'categories', it seems they are lacking a bit in the greenwashing area. Educating people about the difference between what is actually green, and what is just a waste of time, is pretty important I think.

Clean coal seems to be already done up pretty well, but of course there is still potential. Some other topics could be corn-based ethanol, ineffectiveness of some carbon credit plans, pros and cons of nuclear, whether or not 'organic' is always best for the earth, etc.

Just an idea, if it's not your thing then 'humor' is always a good choice.

You could write about your hopes for the future, your concerns about the present, your thoughts on the failures of the past. What you'd like to see accomplished by the new administration, and what those accomplishments would represent.

You know actually last night I was thinking that it would only make sense to use the opportunity to plug Romm's interview on Huddler.  That way Climate Progress readers can come ask him questions, and maybe use Huddler and the climate change forum.

Hehe thanks.  I have to give a lot of the credit to FiveThirtyEight.  I would have been spot on with the electoral votes if not for that one weird Nebraska electoral going to Obama (though I did think Indiana would go McCain and Missouri to Obama - fortunately they both have 11 electoral votes, so the swap didn't mess up my numbers). 

The popular vote worked out well for me.  The Senate was fairly easy, pretty much coming down to Franken vs. Coleman.  And when I make predictions, I tend to combine realism with optimism so that in a close call, I pick the scenario I want to happen (i.e. Franken win).  The House was toughest but I just looked at the polls and basically predicted half the close races would go D and half would go R.  Came pretty close.

Anyway, nice to get something out of being a poll junkie for a year or so :-)

Hahah, for sure.  Total feather in your cap.  Not to mention, Climate Progress is great.
