Lithium Ion Battery Powered Lawn Mowers Coming Next Spring??

I hear that All Cell Technologies is coming out with a lithium ion battery powered lawn mower. Anyone else heard about it? I could not find anything on their website about it. Currently it seems that Li-Ion is only being used in the robo-mowers.

It would be nice to have a Li-Ion mower that that could mow a large yard and still have power at the end.

I also hear that Imara, previously called Lion Cell, is now marketing their Li-Ion batteries to mower manufacturers but I have not seen any announced products.

Li-ion has been replacing NiCd and NiMH in hand tools over the last few years. It makes sense that lawn mowers would be next.

I have purchased a Neuton mower with two batteries.  Do you think this will do a good job?

I've heard of the Bosch Rotak Li-Ion mower, but I can't find much info on it other than on the UK websiteWolf Garten also appears to make a Li-Ion mower.  But again, maybe it might only be available in the UK.

SaintJerome, hopefully two batteries will do it!  That way you could have one charging while using the other maybe.

Alejandro, thanks for the UK info. I had seen one of these and that is when I started wondering when these type would be coming to the USA.

saintjerome, your mower could do a good job, it depends on how big your lawn is, how wet it is, how often you mow...  I have an electric mower now and it works great. The batteries lasted 9 years. After new batteries and a blade sharpening it is running like new again.
