Wii + Wii Fit & Board for Christmas!!!

This is anything goes cause it's not green at all, I'm just excited about it. Well, I guess it's a little green, I did buy the Wii Console used for $186 (still has everything but the AA batteries for the controllers, but I wasn't quibling about that lol), so the whole less demand and all that jazz. And this morning we bought the Wii Fit w/ Board Bundle for $79. After tax we figured the both together cost us right at $300.

This is my and Trevor's christmas present from santa. I am super excited about it. I finally cancled my gym membership cause I hadn't been in 5 months, too busy, no time, no motivation to go once I have the time, and even though my gym has day care I have no motivation to fight with a toddler to get things together just to go work out. I still run daily but I miss working out.

I've talked to some other parents that said the wii fit is great for if you are in this situation cause you don't have to go anywhere. I am a night person. I like working out and running at night, which has been difficult since having a child, to say the least. My normal time for working out use to be from 9/10-11/12 at night. I've heard this is great for turning on after little ones are in bed and doing a quick work out.

I am super excited about it!!!!

That's awesome!  I haven't gotten to try out a Wii Fit but I've played a little tennis on the Wii...and I have to admit...it's really fun!

And as for the green factor, just think...now you don't have to leave your house (i.e. you don't have to drive to the gym) to go work out!  So that's definitely a plus.  And of course, if you're actually going to use it and enjoy it...then that's the part that really counts.  :)

I hadn't even thought about it that way! Thanks for putting the even more positive spin on it!

I heard these things were impossible to get for so long. I've had a Wii for a while, but never tried this one out - please keep me posted on what you think!

they still are. i've seen them online for $130+ and we called every store in town we even remotely though might have one and they were all out of stock, they were all on ad for a lot of the stores too for $90, so it was frustrating. when i called sams they said they had them but weren't releasing them until friday morning. so black friday shopping we went.

I was really suprised how the whole 'ordeal' went. It was actually kind of a nice outing, I guess because it was at sams, which was membership only so it wasn't as bad as a lot of stores can be with the lines, it was pretty in and out. they had complimentary breakfast before such and such time. so we went, got there about half an hour early, stood inside the area between the two sets of doors and chatting with some other customers. at 5 went and grabbed one of the 35 total Wii-Fit Bundles they had (i'm sure they are all gone now) and then sat and ate some bagels, fruit and juice with dh and ds. then went home and went back to bed. ;-)

I will let you know what we think of it. it's suppose to be a christmas present, but the wii is suppose to be arriving at our house on tuesday, I doubt we make it to christmas befor trying it out ;-)

Nice work! My two brothers slept on the sidewalk to get me a Wii a few Christmases ago - takes some dedication, haha.

Looking forward to hearing about it.

If you are thinking about getting this or thinking about doing yoga or getting back into yoga and have a wii already i really suggest this.

I use to do yoga but it's been years and this has really made it easy to get back into it. i love being able to see my balance on the positions is really awesome.

i am so glad we decided to get it. i've even got my husband doing it, and he swore he would never use yoga, but he's decided to start doing the first 10 positions on the wii fit yoga every morning before work.

it also has strength training exercises, aerobics and balance games (that are just fun games that help you with knowing your balance)

the yoga positions it has are:

Deep Breathing
Half Moon
Warrior
Tree
Sun Salutation
Standing Knee
Palm Tree
Chair
Triangle
Downward Facing Dog
Dance
Cobra
Bridge
Spinal Twist
Shoulder Stand

I just did a class that was on tv today and it had several new positions for me, but it was nice because a lot were similar to these so i didn't feel akward or unbalanced doing them.

Now THAT's impressive to me. Nintendo and the makers of games for the Wii have done such an incredible job at making the games fun for many different types of people, but some also have actual utility. It's no wonder that the Wii is still the hottest present to get your hands on even this year.

I'm gonna go on a spending spree to get some new games...just need to get some spend to spree with ;)
