Came across a pretty funny post on MSN today about the top 5 most annoying green celebrity trends...while the pragmatist in me thinks the exposure that celebrities can bring to causes is great, it's still a pretty funny list. Thought I'd share

Well some of those were kind of lame (mothing wrong with driving a Prius!), but the designer tote bag one was pretty funny. I didn't realize it was possible to spend so much money on a tote bag!
I know! Apart from being the most expensive, Louis Vuitton have to be the ugliest bags out there!
Yeah, the designer "eco" handbag is pretty ridiculous...and I agree with the whole eco-hypocrite thing. It irritates me to see how many of these "green celebs" fly all over the world in their private jets. It's just silly.
But I have to say, I agree with Dana1981...the Prius one is a bit odd. It's true, it's not the only solution to personal transportation. But whether you're a celebrity or not, the Prius is undeniably something of a "statement" car. I suppose more celebs could drive a Tango, like George Clooney.
The other one that I find a little silly is the farmers market one. The author says "sure they're fun to go to every now and then." Is it just me, or does that make it sound like there's something wrong with going to farmers markets on a regular basis? I guess turning that errand into a photo op is a bit irritating...but...I'd much rather have celebs do that (and maybe encourage one person to shop at the farmers market) than get photographed doing slightly less favorable things.

Yeah I really didn't get that one either. I guess the complaint was that celebs get photographed at farmers markets too often? No idea, but the more frequently everyone goes to farmers markets the better!
I guess the whole critique was about how celebrities are big posers (posing as environmentalists). I see a general trend now - it is fashionable to be critical of everyone who is an environmentalist and accusing them of being posers. I never thought it would come to this, but I'm worried that people will start thinking that I am a poser too, even though I have been living this way for years (before most of the products on Huddler were even available). That's why I try to avoid to rub it in people's faces and just hope that they will one day follow my example. Sooner or later they will realize that this is not a fad but a trend that is here to stay.
