A few days ago, the Greener Gadgets conference took the stage in New York. Hosted by Inhabitat and Mark Alt + Partners, the conference was a day long conversation with industry leaders, entrepreneurs, journalists, and designers to discuss the greening of the consumer electronics industry. It brought together a variety of stakeholders and focused on sustainable design, product life cycle management, take-back and recycling programs, energy efficiency, green materials, and more. The opening keynote was delivered by Chris Jordan, a photographic artist. Jordan has illustrated the problem of waste in his two photographic series called Intolerable Beauty: A Portrait of American Mass Consumption and Running the Numbers: An American Self-Portrait. Here are a few images:
