This week, we've got Nat Kreamer, President and COO of SunRun.

Now...a little bit about SunRun:

SunRun is the nation's first residential solar electricity provider. SunRun offers the only low-cost, zero-hassle way for homeowners to go solar and is also the only company that lets homeowners lock in an electricity rate that is lower than utility rates and never increases. SunRun Solar Service includes installation of a rooftop system plus free maintenance and monitoring, making solar worry-free and eliminating future costs. SunRun is working to speed progress towards energy independence and environmental security

In a nut shell, this is how it works.  You call SunRun.  You answer questions.  They crunch numbers and send an installation partner out for a consult.  You pick the power purchase aggreement (or PPA) that works for you.  SunRun foots most of the bill for the installation.  You pay for the electricity.  You get solar!  Woohoo!

So what questions do you have for the man who helps bring you solar for cheap (and pretty darn hassle free since they address all of the maintenance issues that come up)?

Things to remember:

  • Make sure to write only 1 question per post (but feel free to ask as many questions as you like)
  • Check back to vote on the questions you'd most like to have answered by Nat (use the "Rate Post" thumb up to vote)

At the end of the week, we'll send the best 10 over to Nat and post his answers ASAP. Then, you'll have the chance to talk with him in the forums with follow-ups.

Check out the Interview Guidelines for a bit more help if you need it. Good luck - may the best questions win!

I presume you've heard of Citizenre, which seems to provide a similar service (or rather plans to in the future).  What's the difference between Sun Run and Citizenre?

Logisitically, how do your power purchasing agreements work? [For example, what happens if you move?  Do monthly costs increase over time?]

How do you see Sun Run and other PPA companies impacting the adoption of residential solar and the development of solar (on a larger scale)?

Your company maintains the entire system that includes the cleaning of the panels.

Is there a preferred method you use to maintain the clarity and reduce cleaning cycles?
