Oh man...I can't tell you how my heart fluttered when we saw the Tesla sign. I know I posted spy photos of the swanky/fancy people event...but Deej and I went down to the public opening today to take a better look. Took some photos...took a video....
We also met the general manager, Tom - he said another (less hectic) day, he'd take us for a spin in a Roadster! How much would that make my day? It'd make my year. Yep, my whole year.
Oh man, too sweet. First you get a Vectrix ride and now a possible Tesla ride? You're going to turn us all green, but green with envy!
I've been listening to this EVCast podcast regularly, and one of the hosts is apparently made of money. He and his wife each drive a Lexus, and he just made a trip to California (from Massachussetts, where he and the podcast are based) and put his name on the waiting list for a Tesla. Then after that he was like 'yeah and in the meantime I'll probably get a Vectrix' like it's no big deal.
It was definitely worth the drive down to take a look around...it really is a cool feeling wandering around and seeing these big cords sticking out the sides of the cars and into the wall. It's especially funny because the dealership is directly across the street from a gas station.
I know we're not all going to have our own Teslas right away, but I think they're going to blaze a very exciting trail with their technology and make it much more broadly available.
