I debated whether or not to post about this, but I'm too proud to keep it to myself.

 

At last weekend's Olympic Trials for gymnastics, we had not one, but TWO Huddlers qualify to go to Beijing this summer. I grew up with both of these guys and am so fired up to see the team on the medal stand.

I see that David Durante didn't get chosen to replace either of the injured Hamm brothers.  That sucks!

 

What are your thoughts on those injuries, deej?  Is the team in trouble?

Wow - that's impressive that you kept up with it. I'm unbelievably disappointed that Dave wasn't chosen, but my opinion is also very biased...he's my best friend.

 

In all honesty, I believe he was the right selection when Paul Hamm went out last week because Dave is such a strong All-Around competitor.

 

I'm actually heading over to Beijing this afternoon to watch the competitions...I know it'll be a blast, but I have no idea what to expect from this US Team...there isn't single repeat Olympian on the team and it's an incredible amount of pressure. We'll see...

I just saw a headline on Yahoo about the second Hamm injury and read the article, then remembered this topic.

 

Wow heading to Beijing, pretty cool deej.  Have a good time!  Maybe get in a word with the US coaches and convince them to put David in the rotation somewhere ;-)
