Yeah and for some reason, global warming deniers find this hilarious. The only thing I find funny is that they don't even try to hide their disdain for collecting scientific data. If they were truly skeptical, they would want to collect as much data as possible.

Agreed. I was saddened to hear this news. One of my first thoughts was that it should be viewed as a set-back by everyone, including contrarians, as it could potentially build their case. Unfortunately, I knew that many would mock it as a waste of money and time, taking joy in the crash. This was confirmed quickly and repeatedly.
