I've been looking for shortneck CFL floodlights to try out in our recessed light cans. I havn't had great success with CFL's in general, so I'd like to be able to buy them locally and try them out vs dealing with shipping, etc.
Has anyone found these sold at any nationwide chain? I've hit up Lowes and Home Depot with no luck.

Did you ask if Home Depot or Lowe's could special order your request? You might also try Target.
You might also try your local hardware store, like an Ace or Aco or True Value.
I never really looked into special order since I'd like to willy nilly try different ones out since I'm apparently picky when it comes to CFL and color temp. I wanted to be able to go back and forth farily quickly and not wait for shipping. I think I'm also the only person that cares about the length of their floodlights, hence my problem finding shortnecks.
Target might not be bad, but I'm skeptical. Regardless I'll take a peek next time I'm over there.
Our Ace hardware looks like its from the 1850's and if I go in there asking for CFL's they'll wonder what sort of sissy watches the Canadian Football League :)
